As I’m learning more about Ayurveda, I was surprised and happy to read that it’s recommended to eat these sweets before your meal as it stimules your “agni” (digestive fire).
Hurray, so no more overeating after a meal when you actually already are full, but you go for dessert anyway :).
I love making bliss balls, it’s so simple and even a mindfulness activity, rolling the dough in small balls.
I have been rolling for some years now đŸ™‚ but never used lime zest before (inspiration by Jasmine Hemsley). Actually combining the coconut with the lime zest makes for a surprising taste experience. So imagine yourself sitting on a tropical island and tasting these treats fresh out of the fridge and enjoy.
These coconut/lime treats remind me of Bali and my sweet travel adventures there in 2009.
I used
1/2 cup pecannut & almons
1/2 cup chopped medjool dates (pitted)
2 heaping tbsp grated coconut and 1Ă 2 tbsp extra for covering the balls
The zest of 1 lime
Put all the ingredients together in a good blender, blend until it all sticks together and start rolling. Put the extra grated coconut on a plate and roll every ball in it until totally covered.
I made 15 balls with these ingredients.
Put in the fridge/freezer for app. 30 minutes.
Enjoy!
