Hello & welcome on my website!
Let me tell you something about myself. For those who don’t want to read the whole story. In short: Véronique = traveler + dreamer + yogi + healthy stuff lover + 40ish + lives in Ostend (Belgium) + nature lover + rebel + dancer.
When I was a child I already loved making fruit salad & doing aerobics ( I did not know about yoga then). But I also loved my fries (I’m from Belgium remember), bread & sweets. When my parents were not at home, the menu was consistently fries + as a dessert ice cream, right out of the container.
During my busy years working for different firms I thought I made the right choice, choosing for veggie sandwiches. Feeling bloathed and tired all the time where part of my life. I was told that I had bad digestion and that I just had to live with it. Now this is what I never accepted and never will. I strongly believe that there is always a way to make your situation better, especially if it is your health situation.
In 2010 I finally got to live my dream. I traveled for 9 months through our wonderful world. Starting in Asia & ending in Argentina. I discovered beautiful cultures and met amazing people. I also noticed how my body reacted differently on the food I ate. I had digestive problems almost every day in Australia where I traveled with a bunch of young people from everywhere in the world and we mostly ate meat, cheap bread and jam. As in Asia I ate the local pure food that you can find cheap at the food stalls and I felt amazing. In Argentina I did quite some hiking, carrying avocados, nuts, fruit & tuna and how much strenght I got from eating this pure foods.
In 2012 I struggled with tiredness and numb legiments due to my poor food regime with lots of fried food. Nobody could explain what was the matter which was quite frustrating. In the following years I learned to adapt my diet to what my body was telling me to eat. And I’m glad to say that nowadays I feel full of energy and I don’have any aches anymore. As before I had to go regularly to chiropractors and physotherapists. A healthy diet, spending time in nature and yoga does wonders for me.
After some more years alternating traveling with working hard in Belgium I decided I wanted to learn more about food and health. I studied 2 years in Belgium about health and nutrition. Then I took the decision to take the online course with The Institute of Integrative Nutrition. And I am so grateful I did so. In this school they teach you all the different nutrition theories. But also something something else very important; bio individuality! Whan can be healthy for one, can be poisonous for the other. Also by only eating healthy you will not be able to live the happy fulfilled life that you dream of. There are so many other things important; healthy relationships, exercice, fun, carreer…
In 2019 I completed my Yoga Teacher Training in Ghent and have been teaching yoga from then on. Read more about my yoga journey here.
I love making people happy whether it is by organising a pop-up and bringing pure lifestyle minded people together, making people relax and re-discover themselves during a yoga class or serving delicious food, paying attention to someone’s special dietary needs.
